Job summary

Morningstar DBRS is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to shape how AI is used across our organization. You will build shared infrastructure, services, and applications to deploy AI capabilities into production, working with engineers, product partners, and business stakeholders.

You’ll influence technical direction while staying hands-on in design, development, and operation. The role emphasizes reliability, security, and maintainability within a hybrid work model.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience building production AI-enabled applications on AWS.
• Strong Python development experience and API design.

Responsibilities

• Design and build production AI applications on AWS with focus on reliability and security.
• Develop AI agents, MCP servers, APIs, and platform capabilities.
• Collaborate with business partners to translate workflows into software.
• Modernize Python apps and integrate AI into Morningstar DBRS products.
• Contribute to technical decisions, standards, and delivery planning.
• Mentor engineers as needed.
