Job summary

Morningstar DBRS is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to shape AI usage across the organization. You will build shared infrastructure, services, and applications enabling teams to deploy AI capabilities at scale, collaborating with engineers, product partners, and business stakeholders.

You'll influence technical direction while remaining hands-on in design, development, and operation of systems, designing production-grade AI applications and modernizing existing Python-based tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS, Engineering, or a related field or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience building production AI-enabled applications on cloud platforms.
• Strong foundation in software engineering with emphasis on reliability and security.

Responsibilities

• Design and build production AI applications using AWS Bedrock and related AWS services.
• Develop AI agents, MCP servers, APIs, and shared platform capabilities.
• Collaborate with business and technology teams to optimize workflows.
• Evaluate tooling and model evaluation approaches to improve performance and accuracy.
• Modernize Python-based applications and integrate AI into Morningstar DBRS products.
• Contribute to technical decisions, standards, and delivery planning.
