Morningstar DBRS is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to shape AI usage across the organization. You will build shared infrastructure and services to deploy AI capabilities into production, working with engineers, product partners, and business stakeholders to identify opportunities for AI-enabled improvements.

You will influence technical direction while remaining hands-on in design, development, and operation of the systems.

Qualifications

• Proven experience building production AI-powered applications on AWS.
• Ability to translate business problems into scalable software solutions.
• Hands-on with API design, testing, and observability practices.

Responsibilities

• Design and build production AI applications using AWS Bedrock and related AWS services.
• Develop AI agents, MCP servers, APIs, and shared platform capabilities.
• Partner with business and technology teams to optimize AI-enabled workflows.
• Evaluate tool use, retrieval-based architectures, orchestration frameworks, and model evaluation.
• Modernize Python-based applications and integrate AI into products and workflows.
• Contribute to technical decisions, standards, and mentoring.
