Welltower Inc. is building and operating a core AI platform in New York to support production applications via reliable data pipelines, model and agent orchestration, and ready-to-use APIs.

You will focus on reliability, data integrity, and converting one-off solutions into reusable platform capabilities while working onsite in NYC. The role emphasizes data security and governance across regulated environments to scale our data infrastructure responsibly.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, or a related technical field.
• 6+ years of backend, data, or ML infrastructure engineering, shipping production systems at scale.
• Strong data engineering depth, including pipelines and transforms that turn messy real-world data into usable structure.
• Experience building and operating APIs and services other engineers build on.
• Hands-on experience with LLM orchestration, agent frameworks, or model serving in production.
• Rigor around data security and access control, ideally in regulated or sensitive data environments.
• Based in the NYC metro area and able to work on-site.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines that ingest, clean, and structure data into a usable form.
• Build the model and agent orchestration layer and the APIs that applications consume.
• Convert patterns created in the field into reusable platform primitives, improving future delivery without proportional headcount growth.
• Establish data quality frameworks and automated testing to protect data integrity and reliability.
• Own reliability, data integrity, and access control.
• Implement data governance practices and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
