Welltower is hiring an AI Engineer, Platform and Data to build and own the data pipelines, model orchestration layer, and API surface that power our wellness-focused real estate platform. You will ensure data reliability, governance, and secure handling of sensitive information at scale in NYC.

The role emphasizes hands-on engineering to create reusable platform primitives, enabling rapid, scalable AI-powered features across the business.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, or related technical field is required.
• 6+ years in backend, data, or ML infrastructure engineering shipping production systems at scale.
• Experience building and operating APIs and services that other engineers rely on.
• Hands-on with LLM orchestration, agent frameworks, or model serving in production.
• Rigor around data security and access control, ideally with regulated or sensitive data.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines that ingest, clean, and structure data into a usable form.
• Build the model and agent orchestration layer, and the APIs that applications consume.
• Turn patterns into reusable platform primitives to reduce headcount on future work.
• Establish data quality frameworks and automated testing to ensure data integrity and reliability.
• Own reliability, data integrity, and access control.
• Implement data governance practices and ensure regulatory compliance.
