Job summary

Capital One is seeking an AI Engineer 4 for Gen AI Platform Services to advance responsible AI systems. You will partner with engineers, researchers, and PMs to deliver AI-powered products that transform how associates and customers interact with Capital One.

You will design and deploy AI components, leverage PyTorch, Huggingface, and VectorDBs, and drive end-to-end architecture with observability, governance, and high reliability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master’s degree with 2–4+ years in AI/ML development
• Proficient in Python, Go, Scala, CUDA or Java
• Strong foundation in engineering, math, and software optimization

Responsibilities

• Partner with cross-functional teams to deliver AI-powered products
• Design, develop, test, deploy, and support AI software components
• Leverage Open Source and SaaS AI technologies for production systems
• Optimize foundation model training and inference for cost and latency
• Define and maintain SLAs for AI reliability and observability
• Collaborate with infrastructure to optimize GPU/TPU utilization
• Lead technical reviews for new AI deployments
• Mentor senior engineers on scalable design and performance
