Job summary

Capital One is seeking a Lead AI Engineer to drive Gen AI Platform Services across agentic AI, guardrails, memory, and evaluation. You will build and optimize AI systems, train and infer foundations models, and deploy scalable AI components using a broad stack including PyTorch, Huggingface, and VectorDBs.

You will collaborate with engineers, scientists, and product managers to advance responsible AI, improve performance, and shape the long-term roadmap of foundational AI at Capital One.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree with relevant AI/ML work experience as specified.
• 4+ years programming experience in Python/Go/Scala/Java and ML algorithm development.

Responsibilities

• Partner with cross-functional teams to deliver AI-powered products.
• Design, develop, test, deploy, and support AI software components.
• Leverage Open Source and SaaS AI technologies and optimize LLM performance.
• Invent state-of-the-art optimization techniques for production systems.
• Contribute to long-term foundational AI system roadmaps.
