Job summary

Humana is seeking a Senior Full Stack Engineer to design and build platform and API layers supporting AI-driven healthcare products. You will set standards for secure, scalable services and contribute across the stack from database to front-end.

You will own API design, security patterns, and deployment practices for a platform used by care teams and patients, requiring strong TypeScript/Python skills and experience with Next.js and React.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering with backend/platform focus.
• Proficiency in TypeScript and/or Python for API/service development.
• Proven track record building scalable REST/GraphQL APIs.
• Strong understanding of authentication (OAuth2, OIDC) and API security patterns.
• Working knowledge of HIPAA security for PHI data.
• Experience with Next.js and React for full‑stack work.

Responsibilities

• Design and lead core backend services, REST/GraphQL APIs, and service integrations.
• Establish patterns for authentication, authorization, rate limiting, and audit logging; ensure HIPAA compliance is embedded.
• Define and implement AI integration patterns, including LLM routing and tool orchestration.
• Build observability with logging, monitoring, and alerting for scalable operations.
• Contribute to product features end-to-end using TypeScript/Next.js, from APIs to UI.
