Job summary

Humana seeks a Senior Software Engineer to design and deliver frontend features for care teams and patients using TypeScript, React, and Next.js, with emphasis on accessibility, HIPAA compliance, and robust AI-assisted interfaces.

You will shape end-to-end experiences from design to production, contribute to a shared design system, and collaborate across product and engineering teams in a healthcare context.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in CS, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 5+ years of software engineering with strong frontend depth.
• Expert-level proficiency in TypeScript and React.
• Hands-on Next.js experience (App Router, SSR/SSG, server components).
• Ability to build and consume REST or GraphQL APIs and deliver full-stack features independently.
• Strong eye for UX quality and attention to detail in interface implementation.
• Familiarity with WCAG accessibility standards and their practical application.
• Understanding of sensitive data handling requirements in frontend contexts.
• Hands-on experience with AI-assisted development tools and LLM coding harnesses (Claude Code, Pi Agent, Cursor, Codex, or similar).

Responsibilities

• Frontend feature development using TS/React/Next.js for care team members and patients.
• Translate AI outputs into intuitive interface patterns.
• Build end-to-end features with SSR/API integration and client-side state management.
• Contribute to shared component libraries and design system.
• Ensure accessibility per WCAG and health-literacy considerations.
• HIPAA-compliant frontend practices.
• Participate in code reviews and architectural discussions.
