Job summary

TRM Labs seeks a skilled engineer to own and optimize the StarRocks serving layer in our government cloud investigations. You will tune performance, harden data pipelines, and increase reliability in a high‑availability, regulated environment.

You will operate with AI-assisted tooling to triage production issues, collaborate with cross‑functional teams, and ship reliable changes quickly in a mission‑driven setting.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience operating distributed OLAP or serving-layer systems (StarRocks, Trino, ClickHouse) with performance tuning at scale.
• Experience owning data pipeline reliability and incident response in a high‑compliance environment.
• Ability to use AI tools to accelerate debugging, code reviews, and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Own performance tuning on the StarRocks serving layer using AI-assisted profiling to fix slow query patterns before incidents.
• Build and harden data pipelines feeding government cloud investigations with reliable changes.
• Reduce single-point-of-failure risk by enabling independent operation and on-call support for the serving layer.
• Use AI-assisted debugging and log analysis to triage production issues and drive rapid root-cause fixes.
