Job summary

TRM Labs is seeking an experienced engineer to support the Data Platform Serving team, focusing on the StarRocks serving layer in government cloud investigations. You will tune queries, optimize performance at scale, and strengthen data pipelines to ensure reliability and compliance.

The role emphasizes on-call readiness, incident response, and collaborative work with cross-functional teams to maintain high availability in a regulated environment.

Qualifications

• Experience operating distributed OLAP or serving-layer systems (StarRocks, Trino, ClickHouse, or similar).
• Ability to tune queries and optimize performance at scale.
• Experience with data pipelines feeding government cloud investigations.
• Comfort using AI tools to accelerate debugging, code review, and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Own performance tuning on the StarRocks serving layer; identify slow queries and fix them before incidents.
• Build and harden data pipelines feeding government cloud investigations with reliable changes.
• Reduce single-point-of-failure risk by enabling second-engineer operability and on-call readiness.
• Use AI-assisted debugging and log analysis to triage production issues and drive rapid root-cause fixes.
