Job summary

TRM Labs in the United States is seeking a data platform engineer to own the StarRocks serving layer in government cloud investigations. You will tune performance, build reliable data pipelines, and reduce incident response times in a high‑compliance environment.

You will collaborate with Forward Deployed Engineering and Product teams, apply AI-assisted tooling for debugging, and take on-call responsibilities to keep critical investigations fast and accurate.

Qualifications

• Experience operating distributed OLAP or serving-layer systems at scale and tuning performance.
• Ability to own data pipeline reliability and incident response; comfortable with AI tools to accelerate debugging and code review.
• Strong ownership mindset and ability to ramp quickly on unfamiliar production infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Own performance tuning on the StarRocks serving layer using AI-assisted profiling to fix slow queries before incidents.
• Build and harden data pipelines feeding government cloud investigations with reliable changes in a high-compliance environment.
• Reduce single-point-of-failure risk by becoming the second engineer able to operate and troubleshoot the serving layer and respond to incidents.
• Use AI-assisted debugging and log analysis to triage production issues and drive rapid root-cause fixes.
