Job summary

TRM Labs is seeking a Data Infrastructure Engineer for Government Cloud to harden the StarRocks-backed data layer and ensure high availability under regulatory requirements. You will work directly with the current domain owner to scale and stabilize critical infrastructure used in government investigations.

You will focus on performance, reliability, automation, and compliance, leveraging AI-assisted tools to accelerate delivery while maintaining rigorous security and audit readiness.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with distributed OLAP systems such as StarRocks, Trino, or ClickHouse.
• Proven ability to tune production queries and optimize performance.
• Experience owning data pipeline reliability and incident response.
• Comfort using AI tools (Claude, Cursor) to accelerate work.
• Ability to learn unfamiliar production systems quickly.
• Willingness to take on on-call duties with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Performance optimization of the StarRocks serving layer through query tuning.
• Build and harden data pipelines for government investigations with AI review workflows.
• Reduce single points of failure and document architectures with runbooks.
• Use AI-assisted log analysis to resolve production issues and enable rapid root-cause resolution.
• Coordinate backup strategies and retention policies for audit readiness.
• Collaborate with domain owner and other teams to ensure resilience and compliance.
