Job summary

TRM Labs is seeking a data platform engineer to own the StarRocks serving layer in a government cloud investigations environment. You will fine-tune performance, profile slow queries with AI tools, and contribute to reliable data pipelines that power critical investigations.

You will also help reduce single-point failures by becoming the second engineer able to operate the serving layer and respond to incidents with rapid root-cause analysis using AI-assisted debugging.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience operating distributed OLAP or serving-layer systems at scale.
• Experience tuning queries and optimizing performance in production.
• Ownership mindset for data pipelines and incident response.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted tooling to accelerate debugging and review.

Responsibilities

• Own performance tuning on the StarRocks serving layer with AI-assisted profiling.
• Build and harden data pipelines feeding government cloud investigations.
• Reduce single-point-of-failure risk by stepping up as a second engineer.
• Use AI-assisted debugging and log analysis to enable rapid root-cause fixes.
