Job summary

EY Challenger is seeking a senior engineer to shape the AI platform across cloud, hybrid, and edge environments. You will own the platform vision, define architecture, and drive a product-driven approach with measurable adoption and value.

You’ll enable portable model access, design elastic compute and storage, and automate path to production while ensuring secure, observable, and cost-conscious operations. This role involves leadership across teams and travel up to 50% in a hybrid work setup.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
• 9–12+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience designing and operating cloud, infrastructure, SRE, or platform capabilities.
• Proven record of building a shared platform adopted by multiple product teams.
• Deep experience in at least one major cloud with portable patterns.
• Hands-on engineering in orchestration, networking, IaC, APIs, and observability.
• Experience operating model-serving and AI lifecycle capabilities.
• Ability to make build-versus-buy decisions and explain consequences.
• Cross-functional leadership with senior stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Set the platform direction: AI platform vision, reference architecture, roadmap, and non-functional standards.
• Run the platform as a product: define service tiers, prioritize roadmap, and measure value.
• Enable portable model access with gateways and stable contracts.
• Architect elastic foundations for AI workloads across regions and costs.
• Automate delivery patterns with progressive release and evidence.
• Define trusted agent runtimes with secure execution and recovery.
• Engineer for reliability with service objectives and observability standards.
• Make economics visible by linking usage, performance, and quality.
• Guide strategic choices on build-vs-buy and portability with partners.
• Build capability by mentoring engineers and shaping architecture practices.
