Job summary

Elevance Health is seeking an AI-Native Software Engineer Advisor Senior to ship, evaluate, secure, and support production systems. You will apply AI agents and coding assistants across the SDLC—from planning and design to deployment and production monitoring—and collaborate with business teams to translate requirements into robust software.

The role emphasizes hands-on engineering, AI tooling, and ensuring data privacy and secure SDLC in a hybrid in-office setting.

Qualifications

• Requires a BA/BS degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field and minimum of 7 years multi platform and/or business and technical applications; or any combination of education and experience providing equivalent background.
• Experience with healthcare, payer, claims, clinical, HIPAA, PHI, or regulated enterprise security is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop agentic AI engineering technology across the SDLC.
• Utilize AI coding tools daily or weekly (GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude Code, ChatGPT, Codex-style agents).
• Evaluate models and measure quality.
• Demonstrate knowledge of industry trends, responsible AI, data privacy, and secure handling of sensitive information.
• Maintain active customer relationships to gather requirements and review designs with the business.
• Own change request processes and coordinate with cross-functional teams.
• Develop and own the list of final enhancements.
• Define application scope and supervise preparation of technical specifications.
• Perform technical design reviews and code reviews.
• Coordinate on-call support and manage system monitoring.
• Lead enterprise development environment and the Engineering/Dev team.
• Lead large projects and run JAD sessions for requirements and modeling.
• Lead vendor evaluation and analysis.
