Job summary

Elevance Health is seeking an AI-Native Software Engineer Advisor Senior to ship, evaluate, secure, and support real systems. The ideal candidate is a hands-on engineer who uses AI to build production-quality software across the SDLC.

The role requires working in a hybrid environment with in-office time and collaboration across teams on agentic AI tooling, model evaluation, and secure design. Healthcare experience is valued.

Qualifications

• Requires a BA/BS degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field and a minimum of 7 years of multi-platform experience in business and technical applications.
• Experience in healthcare, payer, claims, clinical, HIPAA, PHI or regulated industries preferred.
• Strong software engineering fundamentals including cloud-native development, APIs and microservices, CI/CD, automated testing, and secure SDLC.
• Experience building or integrating AI agents, tool/function calling, RAG, memory, model routing, evaluations and observability.

Responsibilities

• Development on agentic AI engineering technology across the SDLC.
• Daily or weekly use of AI coding tools such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude Code, ChatGPT, or similar.
• Model evaluation and quality measurement.
• Maintain knowledge of industry trends, responsible AI, data privacy, and secure handling of sensitive information.
• Lead requirements gathering meetings and reviews with business stakeholders.
• Own change requests and coordinate with other teams.
• Develop and own list of final enhancements.
• Review designs, perform technical and/or functional specification work.
• Coordinate and manage on-call support and system monitoring.
• Lead multiple or large projects and facilitate large JAD sessions.
• Lead vendor evaluation and analysis.
