Job summary

ServiceNow seeks a Senior Software Engineer to independently design, build, test, and maintain AI-native software components in a cloud-native environment. The IC3 engineer will own medium-complexity features, contribute to design plans, and mentor junior engineers across development lifecycles.

The role emphasizes AI/ML integration, ServiceNow platform development, and production systems, with strong collaboration across product, design, and other engineering teams.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software development experience with a relevant degree.
• 1+ years in LLM prompt engineering or AI-native development.
• 1+ years developing on the ServiceNow platform.
• Experience with cloud platforms and databases.
• Strong API, testing, CI/CD, and Agile/Scrum knowledge.
• Ability to own features and communicate well.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain AI-native software features and backend services with limited supervision.
• Take ownership of medium-complexity features from design through deployment and production support.
• Contribute to specifications, implementation plans, prompt design, agent logic, and retrieval workflows.
• Build unit and integration tests and basic evaluation checks for AI features.
• Troubleshoot defects and AI behavior in development and production environments.
• Follow secure coding practices and protect customer data and AI safety guardrails.
• Work with cloud services, APIs, containers, and CI/CD for reliable delivery.
• Identify and fix technical debt; suggest improvements to teammates.
• Communicate clearly with team members and stakeholders on technical topics.
• Provide regular updates on progress, risks, and blockers.
• Explain trade-offs and AI limitations to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Participate in design discussions, code reviews, and sprints; mentor juniors.
• Collaborate with product/design/engineering teams; seek alignment on requirements.
