Job summary

ServiceNow, Inc. is seeking a Principal Software Engineer to architect and build AI-native products that empower customers to operate at scale. You will drive architecture across ITSM/ITOM, ship prototypes, and guide teams through data-driven experiments to prove feasibility and value.

The role demands deep technical expertise, strong architectural judgment, and a track record of mentoring engineers while delivering reliable, scalable enterprise software on the ServiceNow platform.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of related engineering experience.
• Experience with large-scale distributed systems and enterprise platforms.
• Strong programming skills in Java or Python.
• Experience with AI-powered products or agentic systems is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead architecture and technical strategy for ITSM/ITOM products within ServiceNow’s Service Operations unit.
• Hands-on contributions to spiking and shipping solutions; build prototypes and reference implementations.
• Design and validate AI-native solutions with evidence-based experiments and data-driven decisions.
• Architect evolution toward AI-native capabilities and orchestrate agentic workflows to deliver customer value.
• Collaborate across engineering teams to share learnings and accelerate adoption of patterns.
