Job summary

Blue Cross NC is seeking a Senior AI/ML Scientist to identify, research, and develop transformative predictive, prescriptive, and GenAI solutions that translate structured and unstructured data into sound organizational decisions.

This role combines statistical expertise, programming, and data science to create self-learning applications and work with multidisciplinary teams to deploy AI into real-world systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or advanced degree (where required).
• 5+ years of experience in related field.
• In lieu of degree, 7+ years of experience in related field.

Responsibilities

• Own delivery of large and/or complex ML, DL, and GenAI systems with self-learning capabilities that can adapt and evolve over time.
• Design, implement, and evaluate AI systems for production to meet business needs.
• Apply prescriptive analytics techniques to business problems.
• Lead development and testing of ML algorithms, run experiments, and optimize performance.
• Stay updated with AI advancements and adapt new methods to business problems.
• Benchmark existing ML methods and identify strengths and weaknesses.
• Develop prototypes and PoC implementations for new AI technologies including GenAI.
• Lead sessions with business partners to distill needs and provide technical guidance on predictive/prescriptive AI.
• Drive continuous improvement by experimenting with novel techniques and refining models.
• Leverage software engineering principles in constructing sophisticated ML models.
• Identify actionable insights, and communicate results to cross-functional groups.
