Job summary

Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina seeks a senior AI/ML scientist to identify, research, and develop predictive, prescriptive, and GenAI solutions that transform data into strategic decisions. You will lead self-learning ML/DL systems, design production AI, and guide cross-functional teams to apply AI to real-world business needs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or advanced degree (where required).
• 5+ years of experience in related field.
• In lieu of degree, 7+ years of experience in related field.

Responsibilities

• Own delivery of large and/or complex ML, DL, and GenAI systems with self-learning capabilities.
• Design, implement, and evaluate AI systems for production environments.
• Apply prescriptive analytics techniques to business problems.
• Lead development and testing of ML algorithms, experiments, and performance optimization.
• Stay updated with AI advancements and adapt new methods for business impact.
• Benchmark existing ML methods and analyze results for improvements.
• Develop prototypes and PoCs for new AI technologies including GenAI.
• Lead consultations with business partners to distill needs and guide AI approaches.
• Drive continuous improvement by experimenting with novel techniques.
• Leverage software engineering principles in building sophisticated ML models.
• Identify actionable insights and influence business direction through cross-functional communication.
