Job summary

Blue Cross NC is seeking a senior AI/ML scientist to identify, research, and develop predictive, prescriptive, and GenAI solutions that translate data into informed business decisions. You will combine statistics, programming, and data science to create self-learning applications and collaborate with cross-functional teams.

The role requires 5+ years in related field, a bachelor's or higher, and a hybrid work model.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or advanced degree (where required)
• 5+ years of experience in related field
• In lieu of degree, 7+ years of experience in related field

Responsibilities

• Own delivery of complex ML/DL/GenAI systems with self-learning capabilities
• Design, implement, and evaluate AI systems for production use
• Apply prescriptive analytics like optimization and recommender systems
• Lead development and testing of ML algorithms; run experiments and optimize performance
• Stay updated with AI advancements and adapt methods to business problems
• Benchmark against existing ML methods and analyze results
• Develop prototypes and proof-of-concept of new AI technologies
• Lead sessions with business partners to distill needs and guide predictive/prescriptive approaches
• Drive continuous improvement by experimenting with novel techniques
• Leverage software engineering principles to construct sophisticated ML models
• Identify actionable insights and communicate results to cross-functional teams
