Job summary

7-Eleven, Inc. is seeking a Senior Manager of AI to lead the Enterprise AI Team in delivering data-driven AI solutions for retail. You will guide a multidisciplinary group, mentor engineers, and coordinate with Product and Design leadership to drive strategy and execution.

The role emphasizes architecture, planning, budget management, and stakeholder communication, with limited hands-on coding and a focus on scalable, production-ready AI systems.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in machine learning or data science roles with at least 2+ years in a Technical Managerial role.
• 2+ years managing a team of ML engineers or data scientists with demonstrated delivery.
• Strong foundations in Data Science and ML with experience across NLP, structured data and/or computer vision.
• Experience with the full ML lifecycle from data collection to deployment, with measurable business impact.
• Strong knowledge of deploying AI/ML applications in production, including MLops and model monitoring.

Responsibilities

• Lead research, prototyping, and development of AI solutions for retail business challenges.
• Manage full lifecycle of ML projects from conception to production deployment.
• Establish best practices for model development, validation, deployment, and monitoring.
• Mentor and coach team members to enhance technical skills and career growth.
• Partner with stakeholders to align ML initiatives with strategic objectives.
• Oversee development of ML pipelines and infrastructure for scalable deployment.
• Ensure data quality and ethical AI practices in all projects.
• Evaluate and recommend ML technologies, frameworks, and approaches.
• Stay current with emerging AI/ML technologies and communicate with non-technical stakeholders.
