Job summary

EY is seeking a senior architect to shape the knowledge, retrieval, and grounding capabilities used by AI products. You will design federated organizational memory, ensure provenance and access controls, and drive lighthouse implementations from prototype to production while balancing risk, cost, and performance.

The role requires strong data engineering depth, experience with semantic and graph technologies, and the ability to lead cross‑functional teams across domain owners, risk, and legal.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field required.
• 9–12+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience delivering a shared knowledge, search, graph, or grounded‑AI capability.
• Proven hands‑on depth with semantic, graph, or retrieval technologies and SQL.
• Experience designing data pipelines with production controls.
• Policy‑aware architecture with provenance and lifecycle controls.
• Strong cross‑functional leadership and architectural judgment.
• Willingness to travel up to 50% and hybrid office work.

Responsibilities

• Set the knowledge direction: own the target architecture, roadmap, and decision principles for knowledge, retrieval, and grounding in AI products.
• Design organizational memory with a federated approach and durable interfaces.
• Translate business questions with domain experts to define concepts and relationships for AI interpretation.
• Engineer trusted ingestion and reusable patterns that preserve authority, lineage, and uncertainty.
• Build effective retrieval combining search, semantic, graph, and structured methods; balance relevance, latency, cost, explainability.
• Make evidence inspectable with citations, provenance, and evaluation hooks.
• Embed policy in the path by partnering with security, privacy, records, and legal teams.
• Prove the architecture via lighthouse implementations from prototype to production.
• Operate and improve by defining service objectives, observability, and quality measures.
• Build shared capability and mentor engineers and stewards to guide cross‑functional decisions.
