Job summary

Remote is seeking a Forward Deployed Engineer (AI) to design, build, and deploy AI-powered solutions that connect Remote’s platform to customer systems and workflows. You’ll translate field learnings into reusable patterns and product roadmap inputs.

You will own deployments, work across Product, Engineering, and Sales/CS, and operate in a highly autonomous, remote environment with strong documentation culture.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience shipping production software (backend and/or full-stack).
• Strong integration and systems thinking: APIs, event-driven systems, webhooks, auth (OAuth/service accounts).
• Applied AI/LLM experience beyond prototypes: prompt/tool design, RAG patterns, evaluation.

Responsibilities

• Partner with customers to understand challenges and define the definition of done.
• Translate problems into technical designs and implementation plans.
• Build AI-enabled solutions that integrate with customer systems and Remote’s platform end-to-end.
• Own deployments including reliability, performance, observability, incident response.
• Develop evaluation and measurement for AI behavior, including metrics and guardrails.
• Work with real data to validate outputs and iterate based on evidence.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Product and Engineering to ship solutions.
• Create leverage by turning one-off solutions into repeatable playbooks and templates.
• Be the voice of the field to shape product strategy.
