Job summary

T. Rowe Price is seeking an experienced software engineer to help design and deliver production-grade AI agents and intelligent systems across our global asset-management platform. You will work with engineers, product owners, and business partners to scale AI solutions, focusing on reliability, observability, and secure deployment.

The role offers a hybrid work model with opportunities to impact multiple business lines, including AI-enabled workflows and intelligent automation across the firm.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Hands-on development in Python, Java, or JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Hands-on experience building AI-enabled applications and agentic systems.
• Experience with AI engineering patterns like orchestration, tool calling, retrieval-based systems, prompts and context.
• Experience taking AI-enabled systems to production including testing, monitoring, reliability and security.
• Strong cloud-native architectures and microservices experience.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end design and delivery of production-grade AI agents and intelligent systems.
• Design agentic workflows with orchestration, tool integration, retrieval-based systems, and context management.
• Collaborate with product owners to translate needs into scalable AI solutions.
• Lead technical workstreams from experimentation to production adoption.
• Establish testing, quality metrics, regression analysis, and monitoring for non-deterministic AI systems.
• Make informed engineering trade-offs across models, prompts, context, tools, latency, cost, and maintainability.
• Contribute to reusable AI capabilities and patterns across teams.
• Lead code and design reviews and mentor engineers.
