nesto is seeking a senior software engineer to lead major features in our AI-driven mortgage platform. You will own end-to-end development of agent-based workflows, blending deterministic rules with LLM perception and evaluation pipelines.

The role requires strong backend/API skills, Python, and hands-on LLM experience, with leadership responsibilities across cross-functional teams. Join a remote-first Canadian team building Maestro, our AI underwriting engine.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software development experience with backend/API
• Strong Python skills and experience with LLMs in production
• Data science, data analysis, or statistics background
• Experience with model implementation, monitoring, and evaluation across full lifecycle
• Solid software engineering fundamentals: testing, design patterns, agile
• Comfort with AI tooling and agent-based workflows
• Experience leading projects or acting as technical lead

Responsibilities

• Lead major features and projects end-to-end
• Design AI workflows combining deterministic rules with LLM perception
• Build evaluation pipelines with golden sets and online/offline evals
• Shape architecture decisions for AI agent platform
• Use AI tooling to accelerate coding and meet deadlines
• Mentor peers and collaborate with cross-functional teams
