Job summary

Lendistry seeks a Senior AI Engineer to lead the delivery of AI features across origination, underwriting, servicing, and borrower experience. You will own end-to-end LLM capabilities, from design to production, guiding agentic workflows and the shared AI platform used by product teams.

You will mentor junior engineers, fine-tune models, and ensure safe, auditable AI in a regulated lending environment with strong emphasis on reliability and cost control.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience, with 3+ years building and shipping LLM-powered applications in production.
• Expert-level Python for production systems — clean architecture, type-safe data modeling, async patterns, testable design.
• Deep hands-on production experience with at least one major LLM provider — AWS Bedrock, Anthropic Claude, OpenAI GPT, Google Gemini — including tool calling, structured output, and streaming.
• Proven track record designing and operating end-to-end RAG systems — chunking, embeddings, vector databases (Qdrant, Pinecone, Weaviate, OpenSearch, pgvector), retrieval and re-ranking.
• Demonstrated experience leading agentic workflows in production — LLM agents that call tools, reason across steps, with safeguards and audit trails.
• Hands-on experience with fine-tuning/adaptation — LoRA/QLoRA, instruction tuning, or preference tuning, with rigorous evaluation of outputs.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end LLM feature ownership from requirements to production across origination, underwriting, servicing, and borrower experience.
• Design agentic workflows where LLMs plan, call tools, evaluate results, and iterate across multi-step tasks with human-in-the-loop controls.
• Maintain and improve existing LLM-powered features — prompt pipelines, retrieval systems, document intelligence stack.
• Fine-tune/adapt foundation models for Lendistry tasks using LoRA/QLoRA and prompt optimization.
• Design and build end-to-end RAG systems — chunking, embeddings, vector retrieval, hybrid search, re-ranking for financial docs.
