Job summary

First American is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to lead AI-native product development in a production environment. You will own end-to-end delivery of LLM-driven features, design autonomous agent architectures, and build scalable backend services that integrate AI capabilities with core platforms.

You will collaborate with product and AI/ML teams, implement cost-aware, observable systems, and mentor peers to elevate code quality.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience as a software engineer building production-grade systems.
• Experience taking LLM-powered features from prototype to production (0 → 1).
• Hands-on experience building agentic systems with planning and tooling.
• Backend services and APIs using modern languages and frameworks.
• Experience using AI-assisted development tools in daily workflow.
• Solid understanding of LLM operational concerns like latency and cost.
• Experience designing evaluation frameworks and quality metrics.
• Strong CS fundamentals, cloud-native infra, and distributed design.
