Job summary

Thomson Reuters is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to build and deploy production AI solutions for tax and audit professionals. You will blend Python backend development, LLMs, and client-facing delivery to translate business needs into secure applications.

You will lead simpler builds, collaborate with Staff and Principal engineers, and drive AI evaluation, observability, and reliable performance across multiple engagements.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience with strong foundation in system design and distributed systems.
• At least 2 years building and deploying AI/ML or LLM-powered applications in production.
• Strong proficiency in Python and backend engineering, including REST APIs, asynchronous services, and event-driven systems.
• Hands-on experience with RAG architectures, vector databases, and AI orchestration frameworks like LangChain, LangGraph, PydanticAI, or AutoGen.
• Experience deploying secure applications on AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud with Infrastructure as Code and CI/CD, plus observability and AI evaluation tooling.
• Ability to lead client discussions, explain tradeoffs clearly, and own delivery across priorities.

Responsibilities

• Own client delivery on simpler builds and standard integrations, translating needs into clear technical scope and handoffs.
• Build production AI applications, including RAG pipelines, custom agents, and multi-step workflows for tax/audit use cases.
• Develop scalable, secure backend services and connect solutions to Thomson Reuters products and client systems.
• Establish AI evaluation, observability, monitoring, tracing, benchmarking, and adversarial testing.
• Partner with Tax & Audit AI Engineers to translate tax rules and audit procedures into engineering plans and criteria.
• Manage delivery across multiple engagements and contribute reusable components and patterns.
