Job summary

QBitech, LLC. seeks a Senior AI Engineer to design, develop, and operationalize AI/ML capabilities for the BioSurveillance Integration Platform (BIP). You will build production-ready AI solutions and collaborate with engineers and mission stakeholders.

The role transitions from fully remote in Phase 1 to hybrid in Omaha, NE, with responsibilities spanning architecture, model evaluation, and integration across enterprise pipelines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• Experience developing AI/ML applications in production or applied environment.
• Proficiency in Python and AI/ML libraries.
• Experience with LLMs, APIs, prompts, or ML models.
• Understanding of REST APIs, Git, testing, and production deployment practices.
• Active Secret clearance and ability to maintain.
• U.S. Citizenship required.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and deploy AI/ML solutions for biosurveillance, mission analytics, decision support, and workflows.
• Build AI-enabled applications and workflows using LLMs, ML models, and other AI tools.
• Develop and integrate AI agents, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) systems, and LLM-powered workflows.
• Integrate AI capabilities with enterprise data platforms, APIs, mission applications, and data pipelines.
• Develop prompt engineering, structured output, tool-calling, and agentic workflow capabilities.
• Build evaluation frameworks for model accuracy, reliability, latency, and performance.
• Implement safeguards, monitoring, logging, and human-in-the-loop controls.
• Collaborate with data engineers and mission analysts to deliver production AI capabilities.
• Produce architecture documentation, model docs, evaluation results, and release notes.
