ByteHire is seeking a Senior Backend AI Engineer to design and operate backend systems powering intelligent automation across the platform. You will work on production-grade AI services with a focus on scalability, reliability, and real-world impact.

You will design and build backend systems for AI-driven workflows, optimize performance, and contribute to architecture while collaborating with cross-functional teams. This role supports remote or onsite work in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience building and operating backend systems in production.
• Experience with AI-powered or data-driven systems.
• Strong understanding of distributed systems, scalability, and reliability.
• Experience working with asynchronous processing or event-driven systems.
• Proven ability to deliver production-ready systems end-to-end.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally.

Responsibilities

• Design and operate the backend systems that power intelligent automation across the platform.
• Design and build backend systems supporting AI-driven workflows and automation.
• Develop and maintain production AI services with strict performance and reliability requirements.
• Contribute to system architecture with a focus on scalability, modularity, and integration.
• Optimise backend performance, ensuring low latency and fault tolerance.
• Implement best practices across CI/CD, testing, monitoring, and deployment.
• Collaborate with product, data, and engineering teams to deliver end-to-end solutions.
• Support and mentor engineers, contributing to technical standards and best practices.
• Take ownership of services in production, including monitoring and incident response.
