Job summary

H2O.ai, the leading agentic AI company, seeks a Principal AI Engineer in Dallas, TX to deliver end-to-end AI solutions for complex enterprise problems. The role is hands-on, embedded with a customer-facing field team, and requires onsite customer interfacing from day one.

You will collaborate with Kaggle Grandmasters, ML engineers, and domain experts to move AI from demos to production, generating measurable business outcomes for clients.

Qualifications

• 8+ years hands-on AI/ML engineering with production deployment.
• Experience leading technical delivery across complex enterprise engagements.
• Experience building LLM-powered applications – RAG pipelines, fine-tuning.
• Strong Python engineering skills; experience with ML frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow, scikit‑learn) and LLM tooling.
• Experience deploying AI services in cloud or enterprise environments (AWS, Azure, GCP, on‑prem Kubernetes).

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end technical engagement with enterprise customers.
• Manage multiple concurrent engagement streams across cross-functional teams.
• Escalation point for customer issues; drive resolution across engineering and leadership.
• Build trusted relationships with customer data science teams and executives.
• Lead pre-sales and proof-of-concept engagements; set technical strategy.
• Represent H2O.ai at customer workshops and executive briefings.
• Own the full development lifecycle across streams: problem framing to production deployment.
• Build scalable backend services and APIs for AI capabilities.
• Integrate AI models into customer environments (cloud/on-prem/hybrid).
• Develop ML pipelines and MLOps infrastructure for production monitoring.
