GitLab Inc. is seeking a Senior AI Engineer to build AI-powered solutions that transform how teams work across Sales, Marketing, and Support.

You’ll own AI initiatives end-to-end, from discovery to deployment, embedding AI into workflows, and delivering measurable business value. This role emphasizes rapid prototyping, systems thinking, and a customer-zero mindset, within a remote, asynchronous, values-driven environment.

Qualifications

• Strong proficiency in Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, REST APIs and GraphQL.
• Deep, practical experience with modern AI technologies and prompt engineering.
• Experience with model selection and cost-performance trade-offs.
• End-to-End ownership of AI initiatives from discovery to delivery.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose problems and map workflows to determine AI interventions.
• Own AI initiatives end-to-end from discovery through deployment.
• Design, develop, and ship AI-powered solutions delivering measurable outcomes.
• Improve flow by reducing bottlenecks and increasing throughput.
• Integrate AI capabilities using APIs and orchestration tools.
• Act as Customer Zero, showcasing GitLab AI offerings and feeding insights.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to align on outcomes before building.
• Define and track success with business and flow metrics.
• Contribute to technical direction with reusable foundations.
