Job summary

Capital One is seeking a Senior Staff AI Engineer for the Agentic AI Platform, with remote eligibility. You will help build responsible, scalable AI systems that power real-time banking experiences.

You will collaborate across engineering, research, and product teams to design foundation models, agents, and governance, while mentoring other engineers and shaping the AI architecture roadmap for enterprise-wide deployment.

Qualifications

• Degree in CS/AI/EE/CE with strong AI/ML background.
• Minimum 10 years of experience developing AI/ML algorithms.

Responsibilities

• Partner with engineers, researchers, PMs to deliver AI-powered products.
• Design, develop, test, deploy AI software components including training and inference.
• Leverage Open Source and SaaS AI tools like AWS Ultraclusters, Huggingface, VectorDBs, PyTorch.
• Invent optimization techniques to improve performance, scalability, latency, cost.
• Contribute to long-term AI system roadmap at Capital One.
• Define AI architecture vision and productionize breakthroughs reliably.
• Lead platform initiatives unifying data, compute, model lifecycle.
• Mentor senior technical leaders across disciplines.
