Job summary

Capital One is seeking a Senior Staff AI Engineer for the Agentic AI Platform with remote eligibility. You will partner with engineers, researchers, PMs, and product managers to deliver AI-powered products and scalable AI infrastructure.

You will design and optimize foundation models, inference, and agent workflows using a broad stack (AWS, HuggingFace, PyTorch). Lead architecture vision and governance while mentoring senior engineers to scale impact.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in Computer Science, AI, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related fields with required years of experience.
• At least 10 years of experience with AI/ML algorithms or technologies (or 8 years with a Master's).
• Proficiency in Python and at least one of Go, Scala, CUDA, or Java.

Responsibilities

• Partner with cross-functional teams to deliver AI-powered products and improve customer interactions.
• Design, develop, test, deploy, and support AI components including foundation models and multi-agent workflows.
• Leverage OSS and SaaS AI technologies and optimize performance, latency, cost, and scalability.
• Contribute to the technical vision and long-term roadmap of foundational AI systems.
