Job summary

Capital One is seeking a Senior Staff AI Engineer for the Agentic AI Platform with remote eligibility. You will design and deploy AI software components, including foundation models, inference, agents, and orchestration, while ensuring governance, observability, and responsible AI practices.

You will lead multi-year platform initiatives, mentor leaders across research, data, and engineering, and help shape Capital One’s enterprise AI architecture and strategy for scalable, safe solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field with substantial AI/ML experience.
• At least 8–10 years of hands-on AI/ML development.
• Strong programming background in Python, Java, C++, or similar.

Responsibilities

• Partner with cross-functional teams to deliver AI-powered products.
• Design, develop, test, deploy AI software components and model workflows.
• Lead the establishment of AI safety, governance, and performance standards.
• Mentor senior engineers and influence stakeholders up to SVP level.
