Job summary

Amazon Advertising in Seattle seeks a software engineer to design and build scalable systems powering advertising at scale. You will work on APIs serving millions of advertisers, building MCP infrastructure for low-latency context delivery, and advancing design patterns for global ads experiences.

You'll operate with AWS tooling, CI/CD pipelines, and data at PB scale, collaborating across teams to push innovative, reliable solutions while maintaining high standards for performance and security.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional software development experience.
• 2+ years of design or architecture experience (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems.
• Experience programming with at least one software programming language.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable architectures for APIs serving millions of advertisers at thousands of transactions per second.
• Build Model Context Protocol (MCP) server infrastructure—an emerging standard for AI agent-data interaction—that delivers advertiser context with sub-second latency and minimal token consumption.
• Establish system design patterns and best practices for global ads experience at scale.
