Job summary

Cisco Systems, Inc. is seeking a seasoned counsel to join our AI and data transactions team. You will draft and negotiate AI procurement, SaaS, and data licensing agreements while guiding internal clients through complex risks and contract terms.

You will lead negotiation processes, leverage AI tools for efficiency, and shape playbooks on AI governance and regulatory compliance across Go-to-Market strategies and product roadmaps.

Qualifications

• Education: Juris Doctorate (JD) or equivalent from an accredited law school.
• Admission: Admission to at least one U.S. state bar or relevant jurisdiction.
• Experience: At least five years of relevant legal experience, preferably in technology transactions, software/SaaS, or AI/data-related matters.
• Skills: Exceptional drafting, negotiation, and communication skills. High level of analytical and business judgment.

Responsibilities

• Operational Excellence: Manage a rapid pipeline of deal inquiries with high-quality risk mitigation.
• Contracting: Draft and negotiate AI procurement, SaaS, and data licensing agreements.
• Oversight: Lead negotiation process and quality control for contract lifecycle with AI tools.
• Thought Leadership: Stay current on benchmarking and AI/data regulations and translate into internal playbooks.
• Collaboration: Drive cross-functional initiatives related to contracts and AI strategy.
• Strategic Guidance: Translate regulatory risks into practical advice for internal clients.
• Innovation Champion: Leverage AI-powered analytics to automate routine tasks and focus on high-value negotiations.
• Trusted Advisor: Build strong relationships across the business on contractual issues.
