Job summary

General Motors (GM) is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to build data-intensive, AI-enabled software for Product Development engineering teams in a hybrid Austin-based role. You will craft SQL-rich data transformations, deploy Databricks pipelines, and develop Java/Python services that integrate with business workflows.

You'll collaborate with data science teams to productionize AI/ML solutions, ensure code quality, and advance GM modernization efforts using Kubernetes, CI/CD, and secure

Qualifications

• 6+ years delivering enterprise software solutions using Java/JEE and Python.
• 3+ years building data pipelines and ETL/ELT on distributed or cloud platforms.
• Experience with Kubernetes/Docker, cloud platforms, and modern DevOps practices.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain data-driven and AI-enabled apps for Product Development teams.
• Write high-quality SQL for complex data transformations across enterprise platforms.
• Build data pipelines in Databricks and related tools for batch and near real-time processing.
• Develop backend services and APIs in Java/Python to integrate data and workflows.
• Collaborate on AI/ML feature pipelines, inference, monitoring, and MLOps concepts.
• Lead design discussions, review code, and promote best practices and security.
