Job summary

Unity is seeking a senior backend engineer in Mountain View, CA, to shape backend and AI infrastructure for real-time 3D tools. You will collaborate across product, design, and engineering to drive scalable backend capabilities and reliable pipelines.

You’ll contribute to architectural decisions, implement scalable solutions, and help ensure performance and security across cloud environments, with emphasis on observability and cost-efficiency.

Qualifications

• Experience shipping complex software at scale.
• Hands-on with Terraform, Kubernetes, Helm and CI/CD.
• Strong observability and cloud platform knowledge.
• Ability to translate business needs into technical solutions.

Responsibilities

• Partner with product/design/engineering to influence roadmap.
• Contribute to technical strategy and architecture for AI/backend platforms.
• Design scalable solutions for Unity AI products and the Editor.
• Improve backend reliability, performance, and security.
• Run spikes to address infra needs on Azure/GCP.
• Build infra and processes for CI/CD, Helm, and Kubernetes deployments.
