Job summary

BMO Financial Group is seeking a senior leader to lead and execute audits focused on AI governance, including Generative AI, LLMs and AI-enabled processes. You will assess governance designs, risk controls, oversight, and Responsible AI frameworks to provide independent assurance to management and the Board.

The role requires deep experience in AI risk management, strong stakeholder collaboration, and the ability to translate findings into actionable governance improvements.

Qualifications

• Typically 7+ years of relevant experience with a post-secondary degree or equivalent
• Verbal & written communication skills – in-depth to expert
• Analytical and problem solving skills – in-depth to expert
• Professional designations such as CIA, CISA, CPA or CRISC
• Additional AI-related certifications preferred (AAIA, AIRG, AIGP)

Responsibilities

• Lead and execute audits focused on AI governance and risk management.
• Evaluate AI risks including bias, privacy, explainability, and regulatory compliance.
• Provide independent assurance to management and the Board on AI controls.
• Develop annual audit plans aligned to AI business strategies and risks.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to drive insights and strengthen governance.
