Job summary

CVS Health seeks a Principal Applied AI Architect to own AI‑powered product design and production systems across the enterprise. You will design, build, and ship AI applications using agents and coding tools, while ensuring security, compliance, and observability.

This hands‑on leadership role involves PRDs, prototype development, code reviews, and leadership presentations. You will mentor architects, collaborate with platform and data teams, and influence cross‑functional groups in enterprise

Qualifications

• 12+ years in software engineering and architecture with progression to enterprise architect
• 2+ years building production AI apps using LLMs and agent frameworks
• Strong Python plus another production language (TypeScript/Java/Go)
• Experience with at least one major foundation model provider and at least one agent framework
• Ability to write specs, design decisions, and architecture docs

Responsibilities

• Architect AI systems end‑to‑end including retrieval, agents, tool integration and observability
• Build production implementations with AI coding agents and ensure disciplined testing and monitoring
• Collaborate with platform owners to integrate AI apps with enterprise data services and security standards
• Coach architects and engineers on applied‑AI coding techniques and AI‑augmented workflows
• Publish architecture decision records and reference implementations across teams
• Mentor and review AI systems for HIPAA, SOX, PCI and compliance considerations
