Job summary

Thomson Reuters is seeking a Staff Software Engineer / Architect - AI to join the CoCounsel Forward Deployed Engineering team in a role that blends AI engineering, architecture, product development, and customer delivery. You will work directly with customers to define problems, design AI-powered solutions, and deploy them into production.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software engineering experience.
• Proven track record delivering production AI/ML or LLM-powered systems.
• Experience with LLMs, RAG, agents, MLOps/LLMOps, observability.
• Ability to work with customers and stakeholders to identify technical problems and develop solutions.
• Strong API, distributed systems, cloud platforms, and production software engineering practices.
• Ability to operate across the full solution lifecycle: discovery, architecture, build, deployment, production support.
• Strong communication skills to explain complex concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.

Responsibilities

• Partner with customers and internal stakeholders to translate problems into scalable AI solutions.
• Architect, build, and deliver production-grade AI applications and services.
• Develop solutions leveraging LLMs, RAG, agentic workflows, evaluation frameworks, and enterprise integrations.
• Design secure, scalable architectures that integrate with customer-owned and Thomson Reuters infrastructure.
• Contribute hands-on to software development, APIs, services, deployment, and production operations.
• Build reusable components and patterns to support multiple engagements.
• Establish observability, monitoring, evaluation, MLOps/LLMOps, security, and governance practices.
• Mentor engineers on architecture and implementation.
• Collaborate across engineering, product, and customer-facing teams from discovery to production.
