Job summary

Thomson Reuters is seeking a Principal Software Engineer/Architect to design, build, and deliver production AI solutions for complex customer environments. This role combines hands-on development with architecture leadership and customer-facing responsibilities.

You will work with product and engineering teams to translate customer learnings into scalable capabilities, influence technical strategy, and mentor engineers across the organization.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of software engineering with principal/architect-level leadership.
• Deep experience designing complex production software systems.
• Hands-on production coding experience required.
• Significant AI/ML or generative AI in production experience.
• Experience integrating AI with enterprise infrastructure.
• Strong judgment on architecture, security, reliability and deployment.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex technical engagements from discovery to production delivery.
• Architect, build, and deploy production AI solutions in enterprise environments.
• Write production code regularly and review others’ production code.
• Provide technical direction across AI, architecture, integration and deployment decisions.
• Collaborate with customers to understand environments, constraints, and business needs.
• Translate customer learnings into scalable product capabilities across teams.
• Identify patterns and recommend improvements to the core platform.
• Mentor engineers and guide technical decision-making.
