Job summary

Thomson Reuters seeks a Staff Software Engineer / Architect – AI to join our CoCounsel Forward Deployed Engineering team. This role sits at the intersection of AI engineering, architecture, product development, and customer delivery.

You will work directly with customers to understand complex problems, design AI-powered solutions, and help deploy them into production. The ideal candidate is hands-on with production AI/ML systems and can mentor others across teams.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software engineering experience with production systems.
• Hands-on software engineering and architecture experience.
• Experience building and deploying production AI/ML or LLM-powered systems.
• Familiarity with LLMs, RAG, agents, evaluation, MLOps/LLMOps, observability, and enterprise integrations.

Responsibilities

• Partner with customers and stakeholders to translate problems into scalable AI solutions.
• Architect, build, and deliver production-grade AI applications and services.
• Develop solutions leveraging LLMs, RAG, agentic workflows, evaluation frameworks, and enterprise integrations.
• Design secure, scalable architectures that integrate with customer-owned and Thomson Reuters infrastructure.
• Contribute hands-on to APIs, services, deployment, and production operations.
• Build reusable components and frameworks for multiple engagements.
• Establish observability, monitoring, security, and governance practices.
• Mentor engineers and drive cross-team collaboration from discovery to production.
