Job summary

Credence is seeking a Senior AI Software Engineer to design, develop, and deploy AI-driven solutions for federal clients. You will lead end-to-end agentic AI lifecycles, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and ensure secure, scalable delivery using IaC, CI/CD, and cloud-native services.

The role emphasizes mentorship, engineering rigor, and staying at the forefront of AI trends while delivering mission-focused outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science, AI/ML, or a related field.
• 7+ years of hands-on software engineering experience with AI/ML, generative AI, or LLM-powered solutions.
• Experience building generative AI applications, working with LLMs, implementing tool/function calling, and retrieval-augmented generation approaches.
• Experience designing or implementing agentic AI solutions using AI frameworks/platforms listed.
• Strong understanding of leading AI APIs and model platforms (OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini, Bedrock, Vertex AI).
• Proficiency in TypeScript and familiarity with libraries/frameworks (Nx, Next.js, Vercel AI SDK, Playwright, Jest, Vite).
• Python proficiency and familiarity with libraries/frameworks (Pydantic, FastAPI, CrewAI, LangChain, LangGraph).
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines (GitLab CI) and VS Code AI extensions.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, development, prototyping, and refinement of AI-powered capabilities (generative AI, LLMs, retrieval patterns).
• Own end-to-end agentic AI development lifecycles (model selection, tool calling, orchestration, deployment).
• Apply strong software engineering principles; conduct code reviews and establish technical patterns.
• Collaborate with data, cloud, and mission teams to translate needs into AI solutions.
• Design and automate deployment workflows using IaC, CI/CD, containers, and cloud services.
• Monitor AI systems post-deployment and optimize for reliability and scalability.
• Write clean, well-documented code following federal guidelines; enable reproducible development.
• Mentor team members and contribute to reusable standards and design reviews.
