Job summary

Elsevier's Wellsheet team seeks a Senior Software Engineer to own agent-powered features from backend to UI, collaborate on platform API, and validate changes with strong eval coverage. Qualifications

• Possess current Software Engineering skills with TypeScript and Ruby experience.
• End-to-end ownership from backend to UI with clean seams.
• Instinct to measure: prefer small honest evals over demos.
• Comfort with ambiguity; no established playbook yet.
• AI-assisted development is a default in how you work.

Responsibilities

• Owning agent-powered features end to end: prompt and orchestration logic, backend plumbing, and the UI where the output lands.
• Taking loosely specified feature ideas through design, implementation, and rollout.
• Building and extending eval coverage for the features you ship; nothing ships unmeasured.
• Building new ways for agents to present their work, from in-chat results to interactive views.
• Improving the synthetic data simulator and the tooling around it.
• Work across squad boundaries with Product to land agent features.
• Pairing with the engineer leading our agent work to ship an end-to-end production feature and own it.
