CGS Federal is seeking an IT Project Manager to oversee design, development, and oversight of multiple IT initiatives for a large federal entity in Fairfax, VA. The role emphasizes Agile project management, leading teams, and serving as liaison among technical staff and stakeholders.

The ideal candidate brings 5+ years of IT project leadership, strong Java/JavaScript experience, API and cloud/on‑premise familiarity, and a track record of on‑time, on‑budget delivery within government contexts.

Formación

• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in Engineering, Computer Science, Business, Information systems or related discipline.
• 5 years of experience in project management.
• At least 5 years of experience in managing IT projects with leadership in 3 successful on-time, on-budget deliveries.
• At least 5 years of experience in information system design and development in Java/JavaScript.
• Knowledge of API management, RESTful APIs, cloud and on‑premise environments.
• Experience with RDBMS and NoSQL databases.
• 5 years managing an Agile scrum team with developers, testers and DevOps.
• Experience with public agency interfaces.
• Master’s Degree or project management certification.
• 5 years programming in Java, JavaScript, JBOSS Fuse, AngularJS.
• Experience in health and human services domains.
• Knowledge of full Agile SDLC and CI/CD practices.
• Integration with financial management systems.
• Experience with web/mobile development, information retrieval, large systems, or security software development.
• Industry certifications/licenses.

Responsabilidades

• Define project scope and schedule with focus on regular, timely value delivery.
• Organize and lead project status and working meetings.
• Prepare and distribute progress reports.
• Manage risks and issues; correct deviations and plan delivery.
• Define initiatives for continuous business process improvements and monitoring.
• Lead team decisions on system implementation, modification and maintenance.
• Develop and update business process documentation for testing and training management.
• Define and manage a defined project management process and drive agile best practices.
• Deliver an agile transformation plan from current to target state.
• Use standard metrics to assess program performance.
• Support agile tooling adoption for standardized team execution.
• Monitor overall cost, schedules, and technical quality.
• Provide technical analysis reports as directed by the Agency.
