Job summary

CGS Federal is seeking an IT Project Manager to design, develop, and oversee IT initiatives within a major federal entity. The role requires strong Agile expertise, leadership as a liaison, and ability to guide multiple projects through planning, resourcing, and execution.

You will collaborate across teams to ensure timely delivery and compliance with agency requirements. The ideal candidate has 5+ years managing IT projects, experience with APIs, cloud/on‑prem environments, and public-sector

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, CS, or related field.
• 5+ years in IT project management with leadership in at least 3 on-time/on-budget projects.
• 5+ years in information system design and development with Java or JavaScript.
• Experience with API integration and RESTful APIs in cloud and on-prem environments.
• Experience with RDBMS and NoSQL with strong problem solving.
• 5+ years of leading an Agile Scrum team.
• Experience with health and human services domains.
• Industry certifications/licenses.
• Experience with federal agency interfaces.
• Knowledge of SDLC best practices.
• Integration with financial management systems.
• Experience with at least two of: web/mobile apps, information retrieval, large systems, security software.

Responsibilities

• Define project scope and schedule for regular delivery of value.
• Organize and lead project status and working meetings.
• Prepare and distribute progress reports.
• Manage risks and issues; correct deviations and plan delivery.
• Define and develop initiatives for continuous process improvements.
• Manage the team in making decisions on system implementation and maintenance.
• Develop and update business process documentation for testing and training management.
• Define and manage a well-defined project management process and champion agile practices.
• Deliver an agile transformation plan from current to desired state.
• Use standard project performance metrics to assess the program.
• Assist in agile tools, guidelines and metrics to standardize execution.
• Monitor cost, adherence to schedules, and technical quality.
• Prepare technical analysis reports for Agency discussions.
